Traditional twinset wings all look the same, so if it works, why change? Because good is not good enough for XDEEP. They wanted to deconstruct the traditional wing and backplate, knowing it works, but knowing they could make it a lot better. Every element in the NX Project Wing has been developed to perfection, with no compromises in the pursuit of excellence.

An investment of three years of design time, thousands of hours of testing in the water, constant refinement of the concepts, and the application of advanced materials technology brought their ideas to life within the XDEEP NX Project system.

The XDEEP NX Project offers more lift and reduced size

The NX Project design has specifically minimised the traditional dead zones found in classic donut wing. This allows the wing to offer the twinset diver more lift while reducing the wings size. Put another way, you get the same lift as a traditional wing in a more streamlined, narrow, and compact wing.

The NX Project's narrow profile improves movement in the water column by reducing the drag of the wing itself. The compact nature of the wing means each fin stroke is as effective as you can make it and is not hindered by the wing. This has a direct impact on your efficiency and can help improve your gas consumption on your dive.

Even though the XDEEP NX Project wing has been designed to be smaller, there is no impact on the capability and functionality of the wing. The unique NX Power Inflator

One of the clear visual differences between the NX Project Wing and other classic wings is the low-pressure inflator. The connection point between the bladder and the corrugated hose is at the apex of the wing in the central position. The inflator is welded directly onto the bladder and removes the failure points of elbows, threads, and gaskets found on a traditional inflator.

This unique position offers improved airflow both in and out of the wing. The central position no longer favours one side of the wing or the other. This ensures optimum trim is maintained at all times during your dive.

The central NX Power Inflator is as responsive inflating as deflating. Although most technical divers favour the kidney dump for dumping gas from the wing during ascent, there are times when the LPI is used. The Project Wing offers a combination of shape and NX power inflator to naturally flow the gas to the top of the wing for simple exhausting of gas.

Optimum Hose Routing & Valve Access

In an emergency situation, every second counts, so easy access to your valves is critical. As the NX inflator design is so compact, the upper wing size can be reduced and there is no impediment to quick and easy shutdowns.

In addition, the extra space allows for straight and tidy hose routing. Even when fully inflated, the NX wing will not pressure or bend your hoses.

The NX Series Backplate

Taking a proper look at the anatomy and structure of the human back, XDEEP has reinvented the backplate concept. Enlarging the upper part of the backplate achieves better weight distribution during the dive and removes load from the lumbar region. The lower plate design spreads the load equally well and allows for optimal attachment of weight pockets and accessories. The new NX Series backplate is more comfortable, more stable, and more protective of your back than any other classic plate. It is available in two sizes, small and large.

The XDEEP NX Harness & V-Shaped Crotch Strap

The security of a classic single piece harness is unrivaled, but this has meant sacrificing comfort and adjustability. The NX series harness not only keeps all the positives but also adds a level of comfort and adjustment that the most ardent DIR diver will value.

The backplate harness interface is a completely new design, made possible by the changes to the backplate. When unfastened, the shoulder straps are 20% longer than in a standard one-piece, making kitting up or kit removal much easier. Tightening the waist buckle tensions the shoulder straps to provide perfect lift.

The V shape crotch strap is more comfortable, eliminating often uncomfortable single strap. By spreading the load in and out of the water, the V strap is a real step change forward. Long scooter rides become a pleasure and even large capacity twinsets and multiple stages will not become unstable.
